About the Team
The Animal Nutrition Center is a specialized department within The Department of Animal Health at Walt Disney World. As a centralized food preparation location, we are dedicated to meeting the unique nutrition needs of the live animal collection. Our mission is to deliver steadfast excellence in animal care and welfare through outstanding nutrition, provide the highest quality of animal nutrition as part of the broader Animal, Science, and Environment wellness program, and inspire guests to take conservation action by sharing the science behind animal nutrition.
About the Role
As a Seasonal Animal Nutrition Assistant, you will play a vital role in our 7-day-a-week operation, typically running from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with extended hours as needed. You will report directly to the Animal Nutrition Center Zoological Manager and spend the majority of your time outdoors in various weather conditions.
Your primary focus will be the accurate preparation of animal diets and assisting in their delivery to animal areas. This role requires close collaboration with Animal Husbandry, Maintenance, Horticulture, Education, and other partnering departments. Beyond food preparation, you will have the opportunity to create "magical moments" by interacting with guests and Cast members to share nutritional information and conservation messages.
Hiring Process
Candidates for this role must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and personal transportation to travel to the workplace and behind-the-scenes work locations. Full availability for any shift, seven days a week including weekends and holidays, is required to support our continuous operation.
