As an Amazon Warehouse Equipment Operator, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for moving customer orders safely and efficiently. You will operate powered industrial trucks (PIT)—including order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts—to unload and load trailers, store pallets, and retrieve items throughout the warehouse. This role is designed for individuals who want to learn a valuable trade; Amazon provides all necessary PIT training and certification for free, so no prior experience is required.
Your workspace is a state-of-the-art facility designed with safety as the top priority. You will work alongside supportive teams in an environment that is clean, well-organized, and equipped with the latest technology. While the pace is dynamic, you will have access to daily safety tips and protective gear to ensure your well-being.
The physical nature of the job involves standing, walking, and maneuvering equipment in varying conditions. Facilities are generally climate-controlled, though temperatures can fluctuate based on the season and specific areas of the warehouse. The environment can be noisy at times, and hearing protection is available when needed. You will be operating heavy machinery and working around moving equipment, requiring focus and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Amazon is committed to your long-term development. You will complete on-the-job training during your first few days, learning to operate PIT equipment and utilize handheld technology. The company has pledged to upskill employees through free training and development programs, with tuition support available for select groups.
We foster an inclusive workplace with a variety of employee support programs and resource groups. Our teams are dedicated to making a positive impact through local community engagement initiatives. You will join a supportive team environment that is ranked among the best in the world.
