The Roustabout serves as the backbone of rig operations, performing essential manual labor to ensure safety and efficiency at remote drilling sites in Alaska. This on-call position is critical for supporting the drilling crew through the rigorous demands of rig-up and rig-down operations, material handling, and equipment maintenance in harsh weather conditions.
You will work in close quarters with a dedicated team, often facing sub-zero temperatures, snow, and ice. The role requires physical endurance to maintain footing on steel decking, lift heavy loads, and remain alert during 12-hour tours. Success in this position depends on the ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Candidates must successfully complete Roustabout Training at the Nabors Training Center. The selection process includes a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check. A valid, Real ID-compliant driver's license and reliable transportation to the crew change point are required to secure the position.
