General Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Technicians in this role serve as the backbone of our community maintenance operations, ensuring that rental units, office buildings, and grounds remain safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and staff. Whether specializing in Change of Occupancy Maintenance (COM), resident service requests, or handling a diverse mix of work orders, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of property upkeep. From repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to managing grounds care and appliance installation, your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and the overall quality of life in our communities.

This position is dynamic and varied, requiring you to adapt to different environments and priorities daily. You will respond to service calls, manage on-call emergency repairs, and ensure that every task is completed safely and efficiently. Success in this role is measured not only by the quality of your repairs but also by the positive feedback you receive from residents, documented through our customer service surveys.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for an interview will be assessed on their practical skills and knowledge. The evaluation includes written, verbal, and hands-on assessments to verify competency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades, as well as specific skills in flooring repair and installation. We look for individuals who can demonstrate basic trade proficiency and the ability to work collaboratively in small teams.
