Central Environmental, Inc. (CEI) is an SBA-certified Small Disadvantaged Business founded in 1984. We have grown into a full-service construction and environmental remediation provider with operations in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Colorado Springs, and Las Vegas, executing projects across the U.S. and globally. Our core expertise includes general contracting, civil site work, underground utilities installation, and environmental and demolition services.
As a General Laborer, you will be the backbone of our field operations, working closely with skilled trades to support a variety of construction activities. This role is critical for maintaining productivity and safety on job sites, whether in urban centers or remote locations. You will be responsible for loading, offloading, and organizing supplies, materials, and tools, as well as preparing and maintaining safe work environments.
The position demands physical stamina and adaptability. You will work long hours, often in adverse weather conditions ranging from extreme heat to snow and sleet, to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Success in this role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to follow directives from the Project Superintendent, and the capacity to work effectively within a team. You must maintain constant situational awareness, report any safety or ethical concerns immediately, and represent CEI with integrity.
This is a physically strenuous role requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, operate hand and power tools, and maintain mental alertness. As a DOT-covered safety-sensitive position, you must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Medical Examiner's Certificate. The role may involve travel to remote locations, and candidates must be able to provide their own transportation to job sites or onsite housing.
Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submission. As a condition of employment, all candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check. If applicable to specific contracts, you must also be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance levels to access military installations.
