The Utility Technician team is essential to the City's infrastructure, performing a variety of activities involving the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city water and sewer facilities. From inspecting water distribution mains and valves to responding to emergency water main breaks and sewer backups, our technicians ensure the continuous flow of essential services for our residents and businesses.
This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including operating heavy machinery, performing pavement cutting and digging, and maintaining detailed records of all work activities. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service, as you will often be the face of the City during service interruptions or community inquiries.
The role offers a clear path for professional growth through four distinct levels:
Rotating on-call duty is a required component of the role, ensuring that our team is always ready to address critical infrastructure needs at any time.
