The Energy Auditor I serves as a vital bridge between utility customers and energy efficiency initiatives. In this position, you will provide expert advice and coordination to small business tenants, building owners, and utility customers, guiding them through the complexities of electric and gas system modifications. Your primary mission is to convince prospective clients of the tangible benefits of improved efficiency while delivering high-quality, professional services that deepen customer awareness and participation in rebate programs.
This role is dynamic and field-focused, requiring you to conduct walk-through energy assessments of properties to identify key natural gas and electric saving opportunities across living spaces, basements, attics, and exterior perimeters. You will not only analyze but also act, performing direct installations of energy-saving devices such as LED lighting, programmable thermostats, and faucet aerators. Success in this position relies on your ability to build quick rapport with customers, initiating conversations about facility energy usage and clearly articulating assessment findings and rebate opportunities.
You will be part of a team dedicated to promoting the strategic direction of energy efficiency programs. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with building owners, property managers, and engineers to ensure continuous improvement of operations. The role demands a balance of technical expertise and community engagement, often requiring you to lead presentations for targeted groups and manage inventory and fleet logistics to support field operations.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel up to 75% of the time. Please ensure your application highlights your experience in residential building construction, HVAC systems, or relevant energy efficiency designations. We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and strive to build a team that reflects the communities we serve.
