The Infection Preventionist (IP) serves as a critical guardian of patient and staff safety within SEARHC. This role is dedicated to the surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAI) while ensuring the organization meets rigorous standards set by the Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, CDC, and FDA. The IP acts as a central hub for developing health system policies and procedures that align with evidence-based infection prevention and control practices.
In this position, you will not only monitor reportable conditions but also drive a comprehensive consortium-wide infection prevention program. You will collaborate closely with the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to set goals based on risk assessments and regulatory requirements. Your work involves collecting and interpreting complex data to guide decision-making, while simultaneously serving as an educator for staff, patients, and visitors across all SEARHC locations.
Reporting to the Infection Prevention & Control Manager, you will function as a co-chair for the IPC committee and a vital liaison for the Performance Improvement team. The role requires cross-training to support departmental needs and involves travel to various sites within the SEARHC network to assess protocols, deliver education, and foster a culture of safety.
