Under the general supervision of the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA), this position serves as a vital champion for the Arts and Culture, customer service, and internal communication initiatives across Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN). The role is designed to execute the organization's vision by fostering a welcoming environment, managing the Arts Program, and supporting employee engagement.
You will act as a bridge between the TAA leadership, the public, and the airport community. Your day-to-day involves coordinating the "Warm Welcome" volunteer program, managing the Military Lounge, and overseeing the installation of holiday décor and temporary art exhibits. Beyond event coordination, you will serve as the first point of contact for inquiries from customers, tenants, and the media, ensuring that every interaction reflects the TAA's mission and guiding principles.
The role also requires a strong commitment to safety and operational continuity. You will be prepared to respond to airport emergencies, utilizing Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) protocols to support public safety and operational response. This position demands the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, complex environment, balancing routine administrative tasks with the unpredictability of airport operations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The Tucson Airport Authority is dedicated to the greater good of the community through exceptional service and cultural enrichment. This role sits within the Communications department, partnering closely with the President/CEO, the Chief Communications Officer, and the Director of Corporate Communications. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including People Operations, Business and Commercial Development, and Facilities Maintenance, to ensure a seamless passenger experience and a cohesive internal culture.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to obtain and maintain access to the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA). Additionally, successful hires must complete NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 course requirements and certification within their first year of employment. As an essential employee, you will be expected to respond to airport incidents as required.
The Tucson Airport Authority is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. We strive to create an environment where all employees and visitors feel welcome and valued.
