Who We Are

Kitchens for Good (KFG) is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to transforming lives through culinary arts. Our mission is to create brighter futures for individuals by providing culinary training, job placement, and food assistance programs.

The Microenterprise (ME) program serves as a launching pad for San Diego residents, particularly those from low-to-moderate income backgrounds and underserved communities. As a Program Navigator - Microenterprise, you will be a crucial partner in advancing this mission and positively impacting the community by guiding aspiring entrepreneurs through their journey from enrollment to business launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circlePlan and coordinate Microenterprise workshops, events, orientations, and program activities
  • check_circleServe as primary point of contact for participants from enrollment through program completion
  • check_circleFacilitate participant onboarding, workshops, and professional development sessions
  • check_circleConduct one-on-one meetings to assess goals and connect participants to resources
  • check_circleTrack participant engagement, progress, and compliance with program requirements
  • check_circleRepresent the Microenterprise program at community events and networking opportunities
  • check_circleManage and update the program's SharePoint site for participant access to materials
  • check_circleGuide participants through local and state small business compliance and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent
  • verifiedMinimum of 2 years of working for a nonprofit and/or state agency or equivalent
  • verifiedProficient in Microsoft Office 365 programs
  • verifiedExperience and knowledge of local and state small business regulations
  • verifiedExperience with Salesforce
  • verifiedBilingual in English and Spanish

Nice to Have

Experience and knowledge of local and state small business regulations, including licensing, permitting, and grant eligibility requirements. Experience with Salesforce. Experience working with Justice Impacted individuals, individuals facing challenges related to substance use, recovery, and other life circumstances, former foster youth, job training, job placement, adult education, and adult literacy. Experience working with local agencies and service providers in San Diego County, including navigating referral processes. Experience with Career Centers and federal benefits. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
