IVA'AL Solutions, LLC supports the Air Force Family Advocacy Program (FAP) by staffing qualified professionals at U.S. Air Force Military Treatment Facilities across the country. The FAP is a Department of Defense-funded initiative dedicated to preventing and responding to intimate partner abuse, child abuse, and problematic sexual behavior involving children and youth.
This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base. As a Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA), you will provide non-clinical emergent and urgent services to Air Force personnel, their family members, and intimate partners who are victims of abuse. Your primary mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of victims while maintaining strict confidentiality, except where mandatory reporting laws apply.
You will serve as a critical link in the coordinated community response, working alongside Security Forces, the Office of Special Investigations, and medical providers. Your day will involve conducting risk assessments, developing personalized safety plans, and empowering victims to make informed decisions about their safety and the safety of their children. You will also assist victims in navigating military and civil legal actions, such as obtaining protection orders, and provide referrals for essential resources like emergency shelter, housing, and legal services.
While the role operates during standard business hours (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM), it requires an on-call commitment to respond to emergencies outside of normal duty hours. This may involve telephonic support or in-person response to hospitals and law enforcement agencies, with additional time accounted for as flex hours or overtime in accordance with government policy.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as the role requires local travel and potential overnight travel in compliance with Joint Travel Regulations. The selection process includes a thorough criminal history and security clearance background check. Successful candidates must also obtain the Basic Advocate Credential with the designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist.
IVA'AL Solutions, LLC is an equal employment opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, or military service.
As a federally recognized American Indian-owned company, IVA'AL Solutions extends Indian Preference to fully qualified American Indian candidates. When candidates are essentially equal in qualifications, education, skills, and experience, priority is given to American Indian applicants unless a valid, documented reason for unsuitability exists.
