IVA'AL Solutions, LLC is a federally recognized American Indian-owned company dedicated to supporting the Air Force Family Advocacy Program (FAP). As a Department of Defense-funded initiative, the FAP serves a critical mission: to prevent and respond to intimate partner abuse, child abuse, and problematic sexual behavior involving children and youth. Our team staffs qualified professionals at U.S. Air Force Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) across the country, ensuring that service members and their families have access to immediate, compassionate support.
This position is located at Barksdale AFB. The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) serves as a vital, non-clinical resource for Air Force personnel, family members, and intimate partners who are victims of abuse. The role exists to provide emergent and urgent services whenever requested, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the victim above all else.
In this role, you will establish and review individualized safety plans for every client, conducting ongoing risk assessments to determine if immediate intervention is required. Your day-to-day involves responding to abuse allegations via telephone or in-person, advising victims on available military and civil protective actions, and connecting them with essential resources such as emergency shelter, legal services, and medical care. You will also accompany clients to appointments or court proceedings when requested and collaborate closely with base agencies, including Security Forces and the Office of Special Investigations, to refine the installation's community response protocols.
While the position operates during standard business hours (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM), it requires a commitment to being on-call. You must be prepared to respond telephonically or in-person to hospitals or law enforcement agencies after hours when a victim needs assistance. This flexibility ensures that support is available 24/7, with after-hours time accounted for as flex hours or overtime in accordance with government policy.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as the role may require local travel and occasional overnight travel in compliance with Joint Travel Regulations. The selection process includes a thorough background check for criminal history and security clearance. Additionally, successful candidates must obtain the Basic Advocate Credential (Comprehensive Intervention Specialist) and provide proof of current immunizations and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to starting work.
IVA'AL Solutions, LLC is an equal employment opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, or military service. As an American Indian-owned company, we also adhere to an Indian Preference Policy, extending priority to qualified American Indian candidates when qualifications are essentially equal.
