IVA'AL Solutions, LLC is a federally recognized American Indian-owned company dedicated to supporting the Air Force Family Advocacy Program (FAP). The FAP is a Department of Defense-funded initiative designed to prevent and respond to intimate partner abuse, child abuse, and problematic sexual behavior involving children and youth. IVA'AL provides critical staffing for Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Registered Nurses, Certified Victim Advocates, and Program Assistants at U.S. Air Force Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) nationwide.
The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) serves as a vital, non-clinical resource for Air Force personnel, their family members, and intimate partners who are victims of abuse. This role exists to provide immediate, private, and confidential support whenever requested, ensuring victims feel empowered to seek assistance. While the DAVA operates with a high degree of autonomy, the position is deeply collaborative, requiring constant coordination with Security Forces, the Office of Special Investigations, and medical facilities to maintain a robust community response system.
The DAVA is the first point of contact for victims, offering 24/7 responsiveness via telephone or in-person interaction. A typical day involves conducting initial and ongoing risk assessments to determine the level of danger to the client. The advocate's top priority is establishing and reviewing a personalized Victim's Safety Plan for every case.
Beyond immediate crisis intervention, the DAVA guides victims through complex military and civil options, such as obtaining orders of protection or restraining orders. The role often involves accompanying clients to medical appointments or court proceedings to provide moral support and advocacy. The DAVA must also maintain rigorous documentation of all contacts and incidents while ensuring the safety of the victim and any children involved. Although the position has standard business hours, the nature of the work requires remaining on-call to respond to emergencies outside of normal duty times, with those hours compensated as flex time or overtime.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as the role requires local travel and potential overnight travel in compliance with Joint Travel Regulations. The selection process includes a thorough criminal history and security clearance background check. Additionally, successful candidates must obtain the Basic Advocate Credential (Comprehensive Intervention Specialist) through the National Advocate Credentialing Program.
IVA'AL Solutions, LLC is an equal employment opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, or military service.
As an American Indian-owned company, IVA'AL maintains an Indian Preference Policy. When candidates are equally qualified based on education, skills, training, and experience, priority is extended to American Indian applicants for hiring and promotion, unless a valid, documented reason for unsuitability exists.
This position is located at Tyndall AFB.
