OpenKyber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a government client through a dedicated contracting engagement. This role functions as a full-time developer embedded directly within the client's development team, focusing on ongoing Agile delivery for electronic data processing systems.
The position is primarily fully remote, requiring the consultant to be based in the continental United States. While the majority of work is performed remotely, the role includes travel requirements of approximately two trips per quarter to the client's facility to support business needs and on-site collaboration.
As a dedicated developer, you will take ownership of development tasks from the backlog, designing and building application enhancements while modifying existing functionality. Your daily work involves writing C# and ASP.NET code, managing SQL Server databases, and developing or tuning stored procedures. You will actively participate in application architecture discussions and ensure code quality through unit testing, acceptance testing, and defect resolution.
Collaboration is central to this role. You will engage in Agile ceremonies—including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives—while working closely with developers, QA staff, operations teams, and business users. Additionally, you will coordinate with operations to ensure development and production environments are ready for deployment and support maintenance activities.
