Skagit Farmers Supply is a farmer-owned cooperative. Through its Alaska division, Alaska Mill and Feed, the organization serves farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities across the state. The division provides essential services through agronomy, erosion control, animal feed, deicing products, and retail and wholesale operations.
Our Agronomy division serves the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Kenai Peninsula, Fairbanks North Star Borough, and the Delta Junction area. This region is recognized as one of the most resilient and distinctive agricultural communities in the nation, cultivating over 40 different crops including potatoes, barley, oats, hay, cabbage, root vegetables, native grass seed, and specialty small grains uniquely suited to Alaska's long summer daylight hours.
The company operates a primary plant in Anchorage, serving from the Mat-Su Valley north to Fairbanks and south to Homer. This facility offers custom blending capabilities for dry fertilizer and native grass seed blends, specializing in conventional fertilizer blends, turf and ornamental management materials, and farm seed.
This position exists to support Alaska's unique agricultural landscape by bridging the gap between complex agronomic science and practical field application. You will work as a vital link between growers, contractors, and the broader team to ensure efficient workflows across remote terrain and compressed growing seasons.
In this role, you will leverage a wide variety of equipment and technology to collaborate with crop consultants, farm staff, precision specialists, and operation managers. Your work will focus on improving efficiencies and delivering tailored solutions for a diverse range of clients. You will be expected to function independently while developing strategic plans to increase business volume, yet you will also communicate smoothly as part of a larger team dedicated to providing essential products and services in a timely manner.
