About the Role

As a Customer Services Specialist, you will serve as a primary contact point for our patrons, playing a vital role in ensuring a positive library experience. This position is dedicated to understanding customer needs, analyzing and solving problems, and directing patrons to the appropriate staff and resources. Your presence helps create an environment that is neat, orderly, appealing, and inviting for both customers and staff.

The role involves a dynamic mix of customer interaction and operational support. You will be the first face patrons see, greeting them and answering questions regarding library services, technology, and account management. Beyond direct service, you will manage location operations, including opening and closing procedures, maintaining supplies, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions. You will also support the library's mission by assisting with program preparation, coordinating volunteer activities, and providing training on library technology to both patrons and staff.

Position Schedule

This is a part-time, non-exempt position located at the New Albany Branch. The schedule includes:

Monday through Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Alternating Fridays and Saturdays: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Sundays: As assigned (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
