The Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry (LDAF) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving communities across the state. The Pesticide and Environmental Programs Division plays a critical role in safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of Louisiana residents. This division enforces regulations governing the labeling, sale, distribution, transportation, storage, use, application, and disposal of pesticides throughout the state.
The Pesticide Inspection & Enforcement Program specifically coordinates and manages the activities of field inspectors and oversees enforcement actions resulting from pesticide inspections. The team operates within a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive culture that values the well-being of its employees, offering resources such as a fully employer-funded Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and their household members.
As an Administrative Coordinator 4, you will serve as a senior-level support professional within the Office of Agricultural & Environmental Services. This position is designed to ensure efficient office and program support while coordinating complex administrative operations. You will act as the initial point of contact for the division regarding the pesticide product registration program, bridging the gap between department administrators and industry executives.
Your day-to-day work involves managing the lifecycle of pesticide product applications from companies across the United States and abroad. You will review applications, product labels, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Additionally, you will manage the School Pesticide Safety Program by processing annual Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Plans and handle confidential files with discretion. The role requires critical thinking to evaluate and recommend improvements to registration activities and close collaboration with IT to solve problems and implement new procedures.
