This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO, and is open only to Colorado state residents. This posting may be used to fill future vacancies at this location.
In this role, you will assure the legal incarceration and release of subjects sentenced to the Colorado Department of Corrections (DOC). You will analyze and audit all incoming legal documents, calculating parole eligibility dates, sentence discharge dates, and scheduled primary parole board hearing months.
You will work largely independently while maintaining the ability to expand your knowledge by consulting with attorneys and DOC personnel regarding time computational statutory law, case law, and DOC Administrative regulations. As you progress, you will guide Case Managers and Parole Officers on basic areas such as reading Time Computation Reports, using DCIS effectively, and determining how specific statutes and case laws affect an individual offender. This position offers a unique opportunity to carry a moderate caseload while ensuring the accuracy and compliance of legal sentencing documents.
