The Southern Rural Development Center is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of the region's 30 land-grant institutions. Our mission is to address critical contemporary rural development issues that impact the well-being of people and communities across the rural South.
This position serves as the administrative anchor for a large and complex division within the Center. You will direct, supervise, and coordinate the administrative function, ensuring the office operates with continuity and efficiency. The role involves analyzing operating practices to create new systems or revise established procedures, keeping the unit abreast of trends in administrative operations.
In this capacity, you will manage the unit's complex events calendar and coordinate the logistics for various functions. You will also play a key role in financial and operational support by gathering data for budget preparation, managing inventory, and procuring necessary supplies and equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for interviewing, training, and evaluating subordinate support staff, while developing and implementing office policies relevant to the unit's mission and goals.
