This position serves as an entry-level Registered Nurse within the Inpatient Services team at a Dubuque hospital, marking the beginning of your journey in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a member of the kidney disease healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing and coordinating clinically competent care for patients with kidney disease. This role is designed for those ready to grow, offering comprehensive on-the-job training so that no prior dialysis experience is required.
You will be accountable for the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for an assigned group of patients. Your day-to-day involves collaborating with physicians, supervisors, and the broader healthcare team to ensure continuity of care, while also participating in decision-making and quality improvement activities. As you advance, you may take on leadership functions, including delegating tasks to Patient Care Technicians and serving as a resource for staff training.
Based at a Dubuque hospital, this role operates within a healthcare facility characterized by air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The work involves direct patient care, including the movement of patients and equipment, as well as desk and computer work. You may occasionally be exposed to infectious materials and will be required to travel between assigned facilities or to training sites.
The schedule typically runs from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, the role includes a rotating day and overnight on-call schedule, with participation in night, weekend, and holiday shifts as defined by program needs.
Candidates must hold a current state nursing license and a valid BLS/CPR certification. While the role is entry-level for nephrology nursing, applicants should possess a minimum of 9 months of general Registered Nurse experience. Successful completion of Fresenius Kidney Care education and modality-specific training is required before assuming oversight of other staff members.

We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
