Fresenius Medical Care is the largest provider of renal care products and services in the nation, serving over 200,000 patients across 2,600+ dialysis centers and 350+ research sites in North America. As a home to the country's largest renal specialty laboratories, we are dedicated to advancing the field of kidney care through state-of-the-art technology and innovative pharmaceuticals. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized as one of America's 'Most Loved Workplaces' by Newsweek.
The Outpatient RN CAP 1 position serves as an entry-level designation into our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This role is designed for Registered Nurses with less than two years of nephrology experience who are eager to launch a specialized career in renal care. You will be accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD).
In this capacity, you will function as a vital member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, participating in decision-making, teaching, and quality improvement activities. Your day-to-day work involves the systematic collection and analysis of patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments, ensuring safe and effective delivery of therapy. You will also collaborate with direct patient care staff, including Patient Care Technicians and LPNs, to delegate tasks and provide essential education to patients and their families regarding treatment options and transplant awareness.
A key highlight of this opportunity is our comprehensive support system: no prior dialysis experience is required. Successful candidates will receive 12 weeks of paid, structured training paired with an assigned Preceptor and Nurse Educator to ensure a smooth transition into the role. As you grow, you will have the opportunity to advance through the CAP program, eventually taking on Team Leader responsibilities and supervising other staff members.
To join our team, candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing with a current state license and BLS Certification. We welcome applications from those who are ready to commit to a career in renal care and are prepared to meet the physical demands of the role, which include standing for prolonged periods and assisting with patient mobility.
We foster a supportive environment where professional growth is prioritized. Beyond our competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package—including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with company match—we offer up to $4,400 in annual tuition reimbursement to support your continued education. We are proud to maintain a drug-free workplace and are an Equal Opportunity Employer, considering qualified applicants regardless of background, disability, or veteran status.
Skills: Registered Nurse, RN, LVN, LPN, Patient Care Technician, Hemodialysis, CPR, BLS.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
