We serve every branch of the U.S. military, federal civilian agencies, the Intelligence Community, and various government and commercial clients.
You will join Team Submarine's Submarine COLUMBIA Class Program Office at the Washington Navy Yard. Led by Navy veteran David Drury, this dynamic team unifies diverse submarine-related activities into a single, submarine-centric organization. The team's mission is to eliminate traditional stovepipe structures that create inefficiencies in research, development, acquisition, and maintenance. They are responsible for the construction of COLUMBIA Class submarines, financial and budget management, shipyard and vendor support, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and post-delivery certifications. The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for its outstanding contributions to the program.
As an Action Officer, you will support the U.S. Navy with technical rigor, tapping into your expertise to make a direct impact on military defense and sailor safety. This is a high-profile, challenging position where you will collaborate with a vast team of diverse professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the department and specific projects.
Your day will involve organizing and maintaining electronic and physical document systems, tracking action items to ensure timely completion, and analyzing processes to formulate improvement recommendations. You will research and compile data to present oral and written documents for senior leadership, while also developing administrative policies and procedures. The role requires preparing complex paperwork, coordinating travel documentation, and safeguarding sensitive business information. You will spearhead the review of administrative and technical documentation for accuracy and clarity, attend meetings to prepare minutes, and ensure all correspondence adheres to the Department of the Navy Correspondence Manual. This position demands discretion, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with little supervision, and outstanding communication skills to present projects to senior management.
