This role supports Team Submarine's Submarine COLUMBIA Class Program Office at the Washington Navy Yard. Led by Navy veteran David Drury, this dynamic team unifies diverse submarine-related activities into a single, submarine-centric organization. The team's mission is to eliminate traditional stovepipe structures that create inefficiencies in research, development, acquisition, and maintenance. They are responsible for the construction of COLUMBIA Class submarines, financial and budget management, shipyard and vendor support, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and post-delivery certifications. The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.
As an Action Officer, you will join a high-profile, challenging position supporting projects for the U.S. Navy. This role requires technical rigor and offers the opportunity to tap into and build upon your expertise to make a tangible impact on military defense and the safety of sailors. You will work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment, often accepting emergent tasking with little to no supervision.
Your day-to-day will involve organizing and maintaining electronic and physical document systems, tracking action items to ensure timely completion, and analyzing processes to formulate improvement recommendations. You will research and compile data to present oral and written documents for senior leadership, develop administrative policies, and manage complex paperwork and travel documentation. A key part of your role is safeguarding sensitive business information and ensuring all correspondence meets the strict standards of the Department of the Navy Correspondence Manual. You will also spearhead the review of administrative and technical documentation for accuracy and clarity, prepare meeting minutes, and develop training modules and evaluation tools.
