About the Role

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be the backbone of our financial operations, managing the day-to-day processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments. This position is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on accuracy and takes pride in maintaining compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.

The role offers a clear path for growth as a two-level job progression. Advancement to higher levels is driven by your performance in prior assignments and your demonstrated ability to handle increasingly responsible tasks. You will work collaboratively to improve AP efficiency, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely month-end and year-end closings.

Key Responsibilities

check_circleReview, verify, and process incoming invoices and payment requests
check_circleRequest proper coding, approvals, and match invoices with purchase orders or receipts
check_circlePrepare and process electronic transfers and payments including ACH, wires, and checks
check_circleMaintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
check_circleInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices and vendor statements
check_circleAssist with year-end 1099 preparation and coordinate monthly AP close
check_circleSupport audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
check_circleAssist in process improvement initiatives related to AP efficiency and accuracy
check_circleProcess monthly credit card vouchers and reconcile them to statements
check_circleSet up AP vendors including obtaining W-9s and reviewing vendor statements

Requirements

verifiedHigh School Diploma
verified2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
verifiedAssociate Degree in Accounting (or equivalent) preferred
verifiedProficient Excel skills
verifiedStrong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices
verifiedUnderstanding of general accounting principles, internal controls and budgeting
verifiedDeltek CP experience preferred
