City Year is an AmeriCorps program dedicated to helping students across schools succeed. Our teams of AmeriCorps members provide support to students, classrooms, and the whole school environment. Our mission is to ensure that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them with the skills and mindset to thrive and contribute to their community.
As a City Year AmeriCorps Member, you will serve as a student success coach and mentor for elementary, middle, and/or high school students. This is a paid, full-time, entry-level position focused on coaching and mentoring to help students earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school.
You will not need prior experience in all these tasks, as we provide 2-4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you. You will work closely with partner teachers and school staff every step of the way to plan and monitor individual student progress. Your day will involve working with students one-on-one and in small groups, developing literacy and math skills, and creating engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces. You will also support whole-school initiatives, including extended day programming, homework support, and leadership development events.
To apply, visit our application portal at joincityyear.force.com and submit your completed application online. For more information on the application process, please visit cityyear.org.
City Year AmeriCorps members are as varied as the communities we serve. We are looking for individuals who want to build themselves, give back, and are ready to change the world. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, seeking candidates who reflect the communities we serve.
