About the Role
We are seeking a Woodworker to join our production team, hand-crafting wooden soaking bathtubs and coopered hot tubs. This is not a seasonal or temporary position; we are looking for someone ready to build a career and bring immediate value to the table. You will be part of a 3-5 person production team, learning, executing, teaching, inspecting, and supervising production steps for Cedar Hot Tubs.
The role requires a blend of craftsmanship and leadership. You will use woodworking equipment safely and efficiently, optimize material use, meet production deadlines, and maintain high quality standards. A key part of this position involves working unsupervised on your own tasks while simultaneously guiding and directing an assistant to keep production on schedule. You will also assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and clean production wood shop, including tool maintenance, inventory counts, and shipping logistics.
Location and Residency Requirements
This position requires permanent residence in the 99827 Haines Borough, Alaska area. Haines is a small, remote town in Southeast Alaska known as a one-of-a-kind place to live. It is an outdoor paradise in a picturesque setting, but it is not a typical town with amenities like a Walmart or McDonald's.
Relocation assistance is not offered. If you do not already live in Haines, AK, you must include a cover letter with your application explaining your plans to move here.
