We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Model Maker to join our team in Orlando, FL. This role is critical for transforming engineering designs and specifications into high-quality physical models and prototypes. The successful candidate will leverage a strong background in fabrication, finishing, woodworking, molding, casting, and vacuum forming to support our aerospace initiatives.
You will work independently to create accurate and detailed replicas using a diverse range of materials, including wood, metal, plastics, and composites. Your day-to-day involves interpreting complex engineering and CAD drawings to guide the assembly, fabrication, and finishing of components. From applying precise paint coatings and fairing surfaces to operating specialized machinery like table saws and vacuum formers, you will ensure every prototype meets rigorous standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Candidates must be US Citizens with clearable resources; an active clearance is desired. The application process requires a review of your technical background in model making, fabrication, and finishing techniques. Please note that safety shoes are mandatory for this position.
