Phoenix Union High School District No. 210 is committed to educating students through participation in interscholastic competition. As a School Athletics Coach, you will serve as a mentor and educator, instilling the highest levels of ethical and moral character in your athletes. You will have a tremendous influence on students, requiring you to uphold the honor and dignity of the profession in all interactions with students, officials, administrators, and the public.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve creating a safe and positive environment for student-athletes. This includes organizing and supervising practices, competitions, and pre/post-season events while ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and district policies. You will also manage athletic equipment, support strategies to encourage student participation, and maintain the safety and welfare of all participants in practice areas, locker rooms, and during travel.
Head Coaches will additionally manage program budgets and provide direct supervision to assistant and volunteer coaches. Volunteer coaches will work under the direct supervision of a full-time certified staff member to ensure compliance with all safety and conduct standards.
Candidates must be recommended by the school Principal or designee and receive final approval from the Governing Board. All selections are subject to a background investigation and verification of required certifications, including CPR and fingerprint clearance.
