Paraeducator IV/V positions support the 2026-2027 school year within special education classrooms across the district. Working under the direct supervision of a special education teacher, this role provides essential general classroom support or dedicated one-on-one assistance to students. The position is designed to help students meet their individual educational goals while adhering to their specific I.E.P. guidelines.
You will be the teacher's right hand, reinforcing material and skills introduced during instruction. Your day involves a dynamic mix of tasks, from distributing materials and creating classroom displays to assisting students with physical, emotional, and educational needs. You may provide daily care support, including toileting and special feeding, and work with students facing severe behavior challenges. Beyond the classroom, you will supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, lunch periods, field trips, and after-school activities.
Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. First Aid/CPR certification and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training may be required. The role is an at-will position offering medical benefits, scheduled as a 9-month, 32-hour per week commitment (8 hours/day, Monday through Thursday).
