Since 1876, The Boys' Club of New York (BCNY) has been partnering with boys and young men in after-school, weekend, and summer programs that support youth growth and development. With clubhouses in East Harlem and Flushing and a wilderness camp in Harriman State Park, BCNY offers a remarkable range of activities—from swimming and robotics to ice skating and theater trips—all free of charge to members and their families.
In response to the increasing number of youth impacted by the shelter and homelessness crisis in New York City, BCNY is dedicated to expanding equitable access to its high-quality programs. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleRecord hourly ratio counts and ensure members scan into program areas
- check_circleProvide engaging tours to visitors, potential members, parents, and community
- check_circleMonitor program areas including entryways, locker rooms, and coat check
- check_circleEnsure proper care of materials and organize game rooms
- check_circleUse behavior management strategies to defuse inappropriate behavior
- check_circleMonitor and positively interact with members to ensure safety and engagement
- check_circleParticipate in indoor and outdoor activities such as games, arts, and field trips
Requirements
- verifiedPost-secondary training or college credits
- verified6 months to 1 year related experience
- verifiedAssociate's degree (A.A) preferred
- verifiedExperience working or volunteering in a camp, after-school or educational setting preferred
- verifiedFirst Aid and CPR certification desirable
Nice to Have
