The City of Concord Human Services Department is dedicated to supporting the community through a collaborative and supportive staff environment. We are looking for a caring and professional case worker to join our fast-paced, dynamic office in the capital city, where you can make a tangible difference in the lives of residents.
As a Case Worker, you will serve as a vital liaison between clients and the resources they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Your day will involve reviewing client applications, assessing personal and financial situations, and determining eligibility for publicly funded assistance. You will act as a guide for individuals facing emergency and crisis situations, developing comprehensive short- and long-term plans that include job searches, housing assistance, and budgeting strategies.
Beyond direct client interaction, you will coordinate with a wide network of external partners, including landlords, attorneys, doctors, and other social service agencies, to verify information and secure essential resources like food, clothing, and medical supplies. The role requires balancing administrative precision with empathy, as you manage case files, enforce guidelines for legal proceedings, and pursue necessary reimbursements from various state and federal programs.
A City of Concord application is required to be considered for this position. Applications must be completed online; email or fax transmissions are not accepted. For specific details regarding the application process or to request assistance, please contact the Human Resources Department at (603) 225-8535 (voice) or via TTY at 800-735-2964 or 7-1-1.
Our organization is committed to ensuring fair treatment, access, and opportunities for all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, age, religion, or other social identities. We recognize that each individual brings a unique perspective informed by their life experience and identity. We recruit and retain the best qualified individuals based on a holistic review of their knowledge, skills, experience, understanding, communication, and abilities, in accordance with state and federal law.
