Priority Wire and Cable is seeking self-starters to join our warehouse team in Glendale Heights, IL. We value employees who can quickly contribute to our daily operations and grow both professionally and personally alongside us.
About the Role
As a Warehouse Clerk I on the 1st Shift, you will serve as a vital support pillar for our facility. Your day will involve managing paperwork for shipping freight, performing administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly, and maintaining an organized filing system. You will also assist various departments with their overall workflow, ensuring efficiency across the board.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will be working around moving machinery, including order pickers, forklifts, and heavy reels. The work is active and physical; you may spend long periods standing and cutting wire in one spot, pushing heavy reels to machines, and working in conditions that may involve dirt and dust.
Please note that the warehouse is a non-climate-controlled environment. On hot days, temperatures can reach up to 90°F in certain areas of the warehouse and even higher inside truck trailers and containers. The environment can also be noisy at times, and hearing protective gear is provided when needed. Safety is our top priority; we provide all employees with proper PPE, including steel-toed or aluminum-toed boots (with an annual reimbursement of up to $100), and hold monthly meetings to review safety protocols.
Hiring Process
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines. Previous experience with wire and cable is a plus. Priority Wire & Cable is interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States; however, we cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas. If hired, you must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the US.
