Located at the 39109 Waukesha Jefferson Hospice site, this full-time position serves as the vital link between the hospice team and the community. The role exists to cultivate a robust volunteer force that enhances patient and family experiences through compassionate support. You will be responsible for establishing goals and strategies to recruit, retain, and recognize volunteers, ensuring the program meets the rigorous Conditions of Participation.
In this capacity, you will coordinate recruitment activities with community organizations and manage the placement of volunteers across various aspects of the hospice program. A significant portion of your day involves developing and conducting orientation and training programs for new volunteers, as well as in-service education for existing staff. You will also serve as a liaison between the hospice staff, patients, and families, communicating the availability and benefits of volunteer support. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will participate in assessing and coordinating patient plans of care, ensuring that volunteer interactions are documented effectively to meet the required 5% minimum standard.
