About the Role
The Activity Assistant serves as a vital partner to the Activity Director, dedicated to fostering a creative and interactive environment for residents. The core mission of this position is to design and deliver an ongoing program of activities that aligns with comprehensive assessments, ensuring that the unique physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of every resident are met in compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate standards.
In this role, you will be the bridge between the facility and its community. You will facilitate communication among employees, residents, families, and external agencies to ensure the best interests of the community are prioritized. Your day-to-day impact involves planning and executing individual, small, and large group activities, ranging from hobbies and crafts to reading sessions and outings. You will also play a key role in maintaining the Activity Department, ensuring it remains a clean, orderly, and secure space for residents to enjoy.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleAssist in developing monthly activity calendars and maintaining attendance records
- check_circleCoordinate transportation for residents including outings, appointments, and discharge
- check_circleSupport quality assurance efforts by implementing plans to correct deficiencies

- check_circleMaintain the Activity Department in a clean, orderly, and secured condition
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent
- verifiedOne-year experience in a long term care facility (preferred)
- verifiedAbility to read technical procedures
- verifiedAbility to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals
- verifiedAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions
Nice to Have
One-year experience in a long term care facility.
