The Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF) is a growing 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Bakersfield, California. Our mission is to inspire and organize communities to build volunteer organizations empowered to pursue social justice.
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team in Bakersfield. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of skills and qualities that enable them to effectively engage volunteers. In this role, you will be the bridge between our mission and the community, developing strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers and collaborating with local partners to expand opportunities.
Your day-to-day will involve matching volunteers with suitable roles based on their skills and interests, organizing orientation sessions to onboard them to DHF's mission and values, and providing ongoing support to ensure continued engagement. You will also work inter-departmentally to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals and launch programming events, including voter registration canvassing, phone banking, and tabling.
