We are seeking a visionary leader to drive underwriting excellence for a national book of Surety business. This highly visible, collaborative position serves as the driving force behind securing all new business within a rapidly developing market. As a key figure in the company's growth strategy, you will manage a diverse portfolio including Commercial, Contract, Fidelity, Non-Standard, and Court Bonds.
In this role, you will lead a team of up to six production underwriters, developing and executing strategic objectives and best practices. Your day-to-day involves assessing risk tolerance and market appetite, evaluating underwriting performance, and ensuring strict adherence to authority delegation and audit criteria. You will act as a central hub, collaborating with Risk Control, Actuarial, Claims, Worldwide Operations, and Compliance partners to manage catastrophe risks and operational efficiency.
Beyond team management, you will maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and customers while providing expert support in the development of underwriting and training tools.
