We are seeking a visionary leader to head our underwriting group, driving strategic growth and operational excellence within a leading insurance company. This high-visibility position is designed for an individual with extensive Surety underwriting expertise and a proven track record in managing staff underwriters. You will be instrumental in developing annual strategies, evaluating budgets, performing premium audits, and ensuring all customer issues are addressed and resolved efficiently.
In this role, you will partner closely with marketing and business development teams to ensure department activities align with broader business goals. Your day-to-day will involve utilizing market analysis, profitability metrics, diversification strategies, and retention analysis to craft robust premium plans. Beyond strategy, you will be a mentor to your team, creating and executing personnel development plans to equip underwriters with the skills needed to handle objections and retain key customers.
The scope of your leadership will cover a diverse range of Surety Bonds, including Commercial, Contract, Fidelity, Non-Standard, Small Contract, and Court Surety. You will also play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with wholesale brokers, ensuring our market presence remains strong and competitive.
