About the Role

The Vice President of Flight Operations serves as the executive leader responsible for the safety, compliance, reliability, and strategic direction of JSX's Flight Operations organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role oversees all pilot and inflight operational functions while ensuring the Director of Operations has the staffing, systems, and resources required to fulfill all regulatory responsibilities.

This role requires a highly experienced aviation leader who can balance operational excellence, pilot development, safety oversight, commercial coordination, and organizational leadership in a fast-moving and rapidly growing environment.

A Day in the Life

Your day will be highly strategic and operationally dynamic, centered around ensuring Flight Operations remains safe, compliant, efficient, and prepared to support JSX's continued growth. You will partner closely with the Director of Operations to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness across the network. You will establish and maintain Flight Operations policies in collaboration with leadership teams including Legal, Finance, Corporate Soul, and Operations.

You will oversee the full pilot production pipeline, from recruiting and hiring to training, deployment, upgrades, and professional development. Coordination with Commercial teams will ensure schedules are operationally feasible and aligned with pilot resources and regulatory requirements. You will manage Flight Operations budgets, operational planning, and resource allocation initiatives.

Once certified by the Director of Operations, you will support Mission Control and operational oversight rotations. You will ensure Flight Operations teams are properly staffed, trained, and equipped to support safe daily operations, partnering with Safety leadership to support ASAP, FOQA, SMS, and other safety reporting programs. You will lead operational readiness initiatives related to fleet growth, new aircraft introductions, technology upgrades, and network expansion.

You will monitor operational performance, staffing forecasts, and pilot resource utilization to identify opportunities for improvement. Finally, you will provide executive leadership during operational disruptions, irregular operations, and high-priority safety or compliance events.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Lead at the Highest Level: You'll help shape the future of Flight Operations at one of aviation's most innovative carriers.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Your leadership directly impacts safety, reliability, pilot development, and operational execution.
  • Influence Strategic Growth: You'll play a key role in fleet expansion, scheduling strategy, and operational scalability.
  • Build and Develop Teams: You'll help grow the next generation of JSX aviation leaders and pilots.
  • Dynamic Environment: Every day brings new operational challenges, strategic decisions, and opportunities to innovate.
