This position serves as a critical liaison between American Airlines' Operations and key regulatory bodies, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Defense (DOD), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). You will lead the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) and Codeshare Surveillance, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, compliance, and efficiency across our network.
In this role, you will manage the development and continuous improvement of evaluation policies and procedures, maintain the Internal Evaluation Program Manual, and oversee the training of staff to perform evaluation duties and codeshare audits. Your day-to-day involves executing the internal evaluation schedule, reviewing results to provide actionable feedback, and collaborating with system owners to mitigate identified hazards. You will also coordinate major external audits, such as the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and the Department of Defense Air Carrier Survey, while managing the department budget and reporting hazards to senior management.
