The Area Chief of Staff serves as a working manager and medical leader responsible for a pod of hospitals. This role exists to drive the culture and delivery of quality care by the veterinary provider team (DVM, CVT, VA), ensuring every pet receives consistent, high-standard treatment. You will partner with Practice Managers to lead, develop, and manage associate veterinarians, fostering an inclusive environment where doctors feel supported and can succeed.
As a working manager, you will spend a significant portion of your time in the hospital delivering veterinary services, performing medical record reviews, and validating clinical skills. You will oversee the coaching program for newly hired veterinarians, ensuring they master Banfield's quality standards and workflows. Additionally, you will act as a brand ambassador in the local community, recruiting top talent and delivering excellent experiences to student externs and candidates. Your leadership directly impacts hospital performance, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while championing a culture of preventive care and superior client service.

The process typically involves reviewing qualifications against our core competencies in leadership and functional skills, followed by interviews focused on clinical expertise, cultural fit, and strategic vision.
