Banfield Pet Hospital is dedicated to delivering quality care to every pet while meeting expected hospital performance measures. Our mission is anchored in the Six Domains of Quality: safe, effective, patient/client-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care. We strive to create a culture where every pet receives consistent, professional, and ethical treatment.
The Area Chief of Staff serves as a working manager and medical leader responsible for a pod of hospitals. This role is pivotal in driving the culture and delivery of quality care by the veterinary provider team (DVM, CVT, VA). You will partner with Practice Managers to ensure that every pet receives consistent care aligned with our core values.
As a leader, you will live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc.: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom. Your day-to-day involves validating clinical skillsets, overseeing coaching programs for newly hired veterinarians, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. While the role includes significant leadership and administrative responsibilities, it remains 100% hospital-based, requiring you to spend a percentage of your time in a clinical role seeing patients.
You will act as the Responsible Veterinarian for Veterinary and Pharmacy Board Permits, manage controlled substance inventory, and champion a "say yes" culture that drives access to care and superior client service. By developing a veterinary leadership talent bench and fostering an inclusive, collaborative work environment, you will ensure that doctors feel supported, engaged, and successful.
