Banfield Pet Hospital, a division of Mars, Inc., is dedicated to delivering quality care to pets across the nation. Our mission is anchored in the Five Principles of Mars: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom. We strive to ensure that every pet receives consistent, safe, and patient-centered care, aligning with our six domains of quality.
The Area Chief of Staff serves as a vital leader within our veterinary provider teams, responsible for managing and developing associate veterinarians across assigned hospitals. This role is unique as a "working manager" position, requiring a balance of clinical practice and strategic leadership. You will drive the culture of quality care, ensuring that every pet receives treatment that meets our high standards while supporting the professional growth of your team.
In this position, you will partner closely with Practice Managers to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment. Your day-to-day involves validating clinical skills through medical record reviews and audits, overseeing coaching programs for new veterinarians, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will also act as a brand ambassador in the local community, recruiting top talent and delivering exceptional experiences to student externs and candidates.
While the role is 100% hospital-based, the specific split between clinical duties and leadership responsibilities will be determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the number of hospitals managed and the performance needs of the team. You will be expected to champion a "say yes" culture, driving access to care and resolving client complaints to exceed experience scorecard goals.
If you are a current associate, please apply through our internal career site by logging into Workday and navigating to the Jobs Hub app or searching for "Browse Jobs." External candidates should follow the standard application process for this role.
