Banfield Pet Hospital is dedicated to delivering quality care to every pet, guided by our six domains of quality: safe, effective, patient/client-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care. As part of Mars, Inc., we live by our Five Principles—Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom—to ensure that the consumer is our boss and that we provide value for money. We strongly support and value the uniqueness of all individuals, promoting a work environment where diversity is embraced and every associate feels supported.
The Area Chief of Staff serves as a working manager and the primary leader for associate veterinarians across assigned hospitals. This role exists to drive the culture and delivery of quality care, ensuring that every pet receives consistent, high-standard treatment while meeting expected hospital performance measures. You will partner closely with Practice Managers to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment where doctors feel empowered to succeed.
As a key member of the veterinary provider team, you will balance clinical duties with leadership responsibilities. While the specific split of time spent seeing patients versus managing teams varies based on hospital size and performance, you will be expected to spend a significant portion of your time in a clinical role, delivering the highest level of veterinary care in a professional and ethical manner. Your day-to-day involves validating clinical skills through medical record reviews, overseeing coaching programs for new veterinarians, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
You will act as a brand ambassador in the local veterinary community, partnering with talent acquisition to recruit top-tier veterinary professionals. By championing a "say yes" culture, you will drive access to care and superior client service, ensuring that clients and their pets have an exceptional experience from the first visit through follow-up care.
If you are a current associate, please apply through our internal career site by logging into Workday and selecting the Jobs Hub app or searching for Browse Jobs. For external candidates, the application process begins with submitting your credentials to demonstrate your eligibility for licensure and your commitment to our mission.
