Henry Ford Hospital, the system's flagship academic medical center located in Detroit, is a Level 1 trauma center and quaternary referral institution known for its high acuity care and robust subspecialty programs. As a major teaching and research hospital, it offers a dynamic environment for clinical innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and education of residents and fellows. The hospital's strong infrastructure, advanced procedural capabilities, and culture of academic inquiry make it an ideal setting for surgeons seeking both clinical impact and academic engagement.
The Division of Vascular Surgery is seeking a Vascular Access Surgeon to join a high-volume, multidisciplinary dialysis access program. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient access care, endovascular procedures, and operative interventions, with opportunities for academic involvement and future leadership development. The position is structured as an 80% FTE role, split between the Vascular Access Center (A6) and the Operating Room, featuring shared OR block time on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the Access Director to manage new access patients, postoperative care, and access complications. The role involves performing 6-12 endovascular procedures daily in the A6, providing inpatient consults, and delivering urgent access care. Beyond clinical duties, you will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research and industry-sponsored trials, teach vascular surgery fellows and residents, and support program growth in advanced access services. There is also a potential pathway to the Director of Vascular Access role.
Henry Ford Health is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and patients.
