The Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math Science Coordinator serves as a vital bridge between Montana Tech and local high schools in Butte, delivering comprehensive college preparatory services to Upward Bound students. This full-time, grant-funded position is designed to guide students through the complex journey of adolescent development and post-secondary planning.
In this role, you will spend time on Montana Tech's campus weekly while maintaining an active presence in target high schools. Your day will involve tutoring students, assisting with college and scholarship applications, and facilitating culturally enriching educational experiences. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to planning and executing an intense 6-week summer academy for participants. You will also lead efforts in financial literacy, goal setting, and fostering strong connections between the program, students, parents, and school personnel. This position requires a deep comfort level with teenage students and the ability to navigate the nuances of federal grant reporting and project operations.
