Assistant Coach of Men's Basketball

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach serves as a vital partner in upholding the vision and mission of Charleston Southern University's Division I Men's Basketball program. This role is deeply rooted in the university's Christian mission, requiring the incumbent to embrace the intersection of athletics and faith. The Assistant Coach will provide Christ-like mentorship to student-athletes, fostering an environment that supports both their competitive goals and their educational development.

Day-to-day responsibilities involve collaborating with athletic and administrative staff to advance the department's core values. The Assistant Coach will assist in skill instruction, tactical game planning, and player development, while also contributing to film reviews and statistical analysis. Beyond the court, the role includes active participation in recruiting efforts, ensuring all activities comply with NCAA, Big South Conference, and university regulations. The position also involves overseeing student-athlete housing efforts in liaison with the Compliance Department and representing the university at community and professional meetings.
