About the Role

This position serves as a vital support hub within the hospital, responsible for the accurate preparation, maintenance, and processing of patient, ward, and hospital data. The role bridges administrative precision with direct patient interaction, ensuring that records reflect admissions, transfers, and discharges while simultaneously addressing immediate patient needs.

In this capacity, you will manage the flow of information by assembling temporary charts, maintaining unit census counts, and scheduling appointments or arranging transportation. Beyond data entry, the role involves acting as a communication link by answering patient signals, assessing needs, and relaying requests to the appropriate clinical staff. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families, handling telephone inquiries and delivering messages.

Work Environment

The position requires frequent exposure to a dynamic and sometimes challenging physical environment. This includes high noise levels, temperature variations, and occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as radiation risks, blood-borne pathogens, airborne particles, or caustic chemicals. Safety considerations are paramount in this setting.

The role involves a mix of physical activities, including frequent sitting and standing, constant walking, and occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds. Tasks may require bending, climbing, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
