The Tugboat Captain serves as the vital link in our marine and civil construction logistics, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company tugboats across ports, coastal areas, rivers, and job sites. In this capacity, you will be responsible for towing and positioning barges, transporting essential equipment and materials, and managing overall vessel readiness. Your leadership ensures strict compliance with all maritime regulations and company safety protocols while guiding crew operations to support project success.
This position is primarily a single-shift role, offering the flexibility to return home most nights. The role requires constant sitting, reaching, and grasping, with occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, and the use of hand tools. Clear vision (including acuity, depth perception, and field of vision) and the ability to communicate effectively via speech and hearing are essential for maintaining safety and operational coordination among the crew.
As a Tugboat Captain, you will operate on the Lower Mississippi River and other Western Waterways, utilizing your Unlimited Master Tow license to navigate complex environments. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of five years of equipment operating experience who meets or exceeds performance expectations. Your expertise will directly contribute to the stability and efficiency of our well-established organization.
