About the Team

TeamQRT Group has been delivering Thomas Built School Buses since 1980. As a specialized OTR bus transport company, we operate differently than traditional driveaway firms. Our core mission relies on a unique group driving model where drivers travel in convoys of 3–5 vehicles (one driver per bus) to deliver new buses from our hub in High Point, NC, to destinations across the U.S. and Canada.

About the Role

This is an Independent Contractor position focused on transporting new school buses over-the-road. You will join a convoy, driving a new Thomas Built bus alongside 2–4 other drivers. The role requires a high degree of coordination, as you must check in with the Lead Driver before every trip departure and travel back to the pick-up location as a group after completing a delivery.

While the work is OTR and may require staying on the road for multiple days depending on drop-off locations, we offer a non-forced dispatch environment. Drivers choose when they want to drive, provided they complete at least one trip per month to remain active. The position demands professionalism, punctuality for all pick-ups and drop-offs, and strict adherence to DOT Hours of Service rules.

Hiring Process & Application

To join the team, you must attend an in-person onboarding session in High Point, NC. Applicants with a completed SAP program must be at least 7 years clear of completion to be considered. Any accidents reported within the last 3 years must be supported by an accident report before the application can be processed.

Successful candidates will need to bring specific items for trips, including a walkie-talkie (available for purchase at our office), a cell phone, and a set of tools (flathead and Philips screwdrivers, adjustable crescent wrench, 1/2-inch wrench, and blue painters tape). We utilize the MOTIVE app for daily DOT logs; paper logs are not accepted.
