About the Team
TeamQRT Group has been delivering Thomas Built School Buses since 1980. As a specialized OTR bus transport company, we operate differently than traditional driveaway firms. We pride ourselves on being a non-forced dispatch organization, allowing drivers the autonomy to choose when they want to drive with us.
About the Role
We are seeking Independent Contractor Group Driveaway Drivers to transport new Thomas Built School Buses from our hub in High Point, NC, to delivery locations across the U.S. and Canada. In this role, you will drive as part of a convoy of 3–5 drivers, with one driver per vehicle. The position is strictly Over-The-Road (OTR); it is not a local or regional role.
Your day-to-day involves coordinating with a Lead Driver before each trip departs and traveling in a group to both the delivery location and back to High Point. You will be responsible for the condition of the vehicle during transport, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs, and maintaining accurate daily logs via the MOTIVE app. This role requires a professional demeanor and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
Hiring Process & Application
To join our team, you must attend an in-person onboarding session in High Point, NC. We require a local road test as part of the qualification process. Applicants with a completed SAP program must be at least 7 years clear of completion to be considered. Additionally, any accidents reported within the last 3 years must be supported by an official accident report before your application can be processed.
Culture & Requirements
This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position, distinct from a Company Driver or Owner/Operator role. To remain active, drivers are required to complete at least one trip per month. We value drivers who maintain spotless or relatively clean driving reports and employment histories, excluding ride-share experience like Uber or Lyft from our verifiable driving requirements.
